Shawna Points began as a CASA volunteer in 2002, representing children in family court hearings.

Shawna has been responsible for providing domestic violence related resources and workshop information being distributed in the hotel industry also on human trafficking training since 2013. Shawna has assisted 52 hotels throughout Oklahoma in recognizing the telltale signs of human trafficking in training & workshops.

Shawna Points is an active volunteer in numerous organizations in the greater Muskogee area. To name a few: The Bass Reeves Planning Posse, The Domestic Violence Partner Network, the LegacyKeepersRus Organization and serves as Hospitality Coordinator and Volunteer with Bare Bones International Film & Music Festivals.

Her selfless giving to individuals in need, organizations and business entities and enhancing city & state tourism, animal rescue & conservation, are just a few of the reasons for this Salute award.
