ROBERT RODRIGUEZ NAMED AWARD: BARE BONES INDIE AUTEUR OF THE YEAR
THE BARE BONES-ROBERT RODRIGUEZ INDIE AUTEUR OF THE YEAR WAS ANNOUNCED DURING THE BONEHEAD AWARDS ON SUN. MAY 5TH
TIM RITTER & VIVIAN KERR
It is the only award of it's kind given anywhere in the world. It's a recognition of our cornerstone value,By any means necessary.
That doesn't mean by hook or by crook. Nor does it mean you give up your values of integrity, nobility and honor. Or set
aside the qualities of comraderie, compassion, kindness, self-control or goodness.
It means you are willing to, and have taken on any and every task that is necessary to complete your project.
It is great to have the budget for a full crew. But budgets alone don't guarantee the completion of a project or it's
quality. That takes, determination, commitment, drive and that little extra willpower that most people don't have. It is the
relentless drive that pushes past every obstacle, every challenge, every problem, every wrong turn, every disappointment,
every failure, every mistake and every nasayer that tells you to quit.
The INDIE AUTEUR AWARD recognizes that person of many hats that will not stop, until the job is done. That person who
sets a standard of stick-to-it-tiveness that we all admire, respect and revere. That something, that spurs on great explorers,
lonely scientists, insistent investigators, and every human endeavor someone has said was impossible.
For us, at BareBones, it is the ultimate honor that we can bestow on any filmmaker.

Meet the BARE BONES FILM FEST'S INDIE AUTEUR AMBASSADORS
Eban Schletter has been a composer/songwriter in the film/TV industry for almost thirty years. His career was launched with
his award winning work for the legendary sketch comedy show "Mr. Show with Bob and David". He went on to write music
for a wide variety of TV shows including History of the World Part 2, SpongeBob SquarePants, Drawn Together, Battlebots, Stan
Against Evil, and The Academy Awards.
His film scores include Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Run Ronnie Run, the 2005 remake of The Cabinet of Dr.
Caligari and the recently completed remake of Nosferatu starring Doug Jones.
For decades, working as a composer/songwriter in Hollywood, my energies have primarily gone toward supporting the creative
visions of others. On the side I would record my own albums, but never had time or energy to support them. In addition, I
had neglected a desire I had from childhood to make movies. Like many, I had a super 8 camera and from elementary school through
college I'd made my own films with friends.

Tim Ritter received his MFA in Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema from the University of Central Florida and his BA in Journalism
from Auburn University. He recently completed work on his third feature film Echoes, after his two previous features, Testament
and Moment of Truth, played in festivals around the world and reached many more across top digital streaming platforms, and
which are complemented by a string of award-winning short films. His films, which frequently examine how ancient concepts
of morality emerge in and clash with a cynical modern world, are built on a hyper-efficient yet ambitious micro -budget methodology
that stresses smart maximization of available resources.
Ritter has also worked in video production as a producer of instructional videos for rising tech company Treehouse, served
as the Programming Director for the Fort Myers Film Festival, taught and designed courses as part of the online faculty for
The Los Angeles Film School, and spent 10 years as an award-winning journalist at newspapers across the Southeast and as a
regular contributor for The Associated Press. He is also working with OmegaPoint Partners to develop new online film and TV
projects as well as encryption software to protect and verify film and video professionals work.
Artist's Statement:
The world seems to be spiraling ever faster into disaster on many fronts ecological, political, spiritual. Echoes remixes,
rather than remakes, one of our oldest stories Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to explore cyclical patterns and traumas,
our relationship to the idea of the divine, free will and the traps we make for ourselves. And, ultimately, the question we're
increasingly facing: Are we worth saving, and are we willing to make that choice?
Echoes is my third feature-length film made in the microbudget mode. While this film embraced many microbudget hallmarks
limited locations, small cast, minimal effects or stunt choreography — it still held up my tradition of pushing
the boundaries of what can be accomplished with minimal resources by telling what is the foundational creation story for many
with all the implied supernatural elements while also following characters over decades of their lives and through multiple
generations, all rarities at this level of filmmaking. We stretched our story concept as far as we could, thanks to smart
planning, strategic conceptualization, and phenomenal contributions from our cast and crew.
Budget: $10,000 (production)
Schedule: 15 days (spread over 10 months to capture film's seasonal content)
Vivian Kerr is an LA-based actor, writer, director, and producer with her company Rue Dangeau. SCRAP, her feature film debut,
co-starring Anthony Rapp, Lana Parrilla, Beth Dover, and Khleo Thomas, world premiered in competition and was nominated for
the Grand Prize at the Deauville-American Film Festival and is currently on the festival circuit with 30+ official selections.
She recently won the NYWIFT Award for Excellence in Narrative Directing at the SOHO International Film Festival, and the Jury
Award for Best Narrative Feature at Naples International Film Festival, Coronado Island Film Festival, Fayetteville Film Festival,
and Fargo Film Festival.
Her screenplay for SCRAP was a Top 10 Finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Competition. Her second feature,
SÉANCE, a Victorian-era psychological thriller, was selected for Wscripted's Cannes Screenplay List and is currently in post-production.
As an actor, her work includes episodes of GREY'S ANATOMY, RIZZOLI & ISLES, SUPERSTORE, MASTERS OF SEX, CRIMINAL MINDS,
NEW GIRL, CASTLE, FRANKLIN & BASH, and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL.
Making SCRAP my feature film writing, acting, and directorial debut has been a 4 year journey, and I hope audiences resonate
with Beth's own journey and walk away with gratitude for what we each do have. As Nicholas Hytner writes so beautifully in
his play adaptation of His Dark Materials:
There's no elsewhere. You must be where you are, and where you are is the place that matters most of all. Cause it's the
only place where you can make, where you can build, where you can share, the republic of Heaven.
